Dr. Torstenson's Training and Experience

I am a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in individual and couples psychotherapy and maintain a private practice in Stamford, CT and New York, NY, where I see clients in-person and online. I am also licensed to practice telepsychology with any person residing an a Psychpact authorized state (see if your state participates here:  https://www.psypact.org/psypactmap).

I have worked at mental health hospitals, elementary schools, and several university counseling centers in Chicago, Seattle, and New York. I have supervised and trained clinical psychology doctoral-level graduate students and truly value mentoring clinicians. Currently in my private practice, I have expertise in relationship concerns, couple and marital therapy, depression and anxiety, trauma and recovery, life transitions, women's issues, and concerns related to college and university students, artists, and LGBTQIA+-identified or questioning individuals.
